Moisturizers for Oily Skin

 A high quality moisturizer can help reduce or prevent wrinkles, age spots, and unattractive dry skin. But if you have oily skin, or a combination complexion where some parts of your face are oily but others dry, you may have a difficult time finding the right moisturizers. Many moisturizers are designed for normal to dry skin. These are often too oily or greasy when used on oily skin, and can even cause pimples.

Although many moisturizers available in drug stores and supermarkets are not designed specifically for oily skin, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t available. There are many specialized and high quality moisturizers available, including formulations designed for oily skin types. These moisturizers usually contain less oils or other moisturizing agents, and won’t cause your skin to produce more oil. A quality moisturizers help your facial skin retain needed water, not stimulate oil production or coat your face.

If your oily skin is combined with acne, you may have a special need for moisturizers. Most acne treatments are extremely drying, and may cause more skin damage if you don’t protect your skin with a moisturizer. Treatments like benzoyl peroxide can cure acne pustules, but will prevent your skin from producing even a regular amount of oil, and causes loss of moisture from your skin. Wrinkle treatments like retinol are also equally drying to the skin.

Combination skin can be the most difficult to moisturize, as the cream for oily skin may not be right for the dry parts of your face. You can either use two good quality moisturizing lotion, one formulated for each type of skin you have, or purchase and use a moisturizer designed for combination skin. Using a moisturizer can help protect your skin from sun and wind damage, reduce and prevent wrinkles, and improve the look of any type of skin.

This is my formal review on a beloved foundation. I talked about it so much, but never posted a review! Here it is! =*D I have dry skin and set the T-zone w/ LM mineral powder. Def atleast do this step, otherwise it won’t last as long and can get oily. I hate to say, but I don’t recommend this for oily skin types at all. Today I’m wearing Laura Mercier Illuminating TM in Natural radiance/LMercier Tender Rose Mineral Powder in Tzone only NARS Multiple Copacabana on all my high points illamasqua Rude Cream Blush Eyes: MAC two to glow duo (plum side on lid) inner lid lancome mint color in fashion forward/bobbi brown hot stone in crease/bobbi brown mink in V area (LOL .. V area!) lips: golden rose #98 with #100 on top (100 is a super pale pink w/ some frost.. kind of like ysl golden whisper #11 gloss in stick form)

Pale skin. Small hazel eyes. Thin, long, black lashes. Red, full lips. Wide/Oval face. Not a fan of the natural look.

I’m a teenager, so of coarse I have acne. Very oily skin.

CLOTHES-
I’m fairly overweight. HATE girly-girl style. NO PINK!!!! Very Curvy. Size14/16 women’s. No idea in juniors.

HAIR-
I dye my hair. Natural color, light brown. EXTREMELY thick. Naturally wavy, but I hate it with my length. Not yet shoulder length.

I’m on a VERY tight budget. Like, a piece of makeup has to be under about 8 dollars budget. Clothes, under 25 dollars PLEASE keep that in mind!

Specialized vigorous oil massaging works wonders. I had great success with extra virgin olive – It is noncomedogenic so does not clog, cause breakouts or make skin oily.
Important to first tighten skin by partially opening mouth and pulling lips FIRMLY back against teeth. Use both hands and do forward and back quite vigorous massage with front and tips of fingers and palms where possible. Circular massage is not effective.
